Therapeutic Approaches
Individual Counselling
I take an eclectic and person-centered approach to counselling, which means that I consider your unique needs and circumstance to identify what will be the best approach to help you move forward. I firmly believe that the client is the boss in session, so I encourage each person I work with to let me know what their goals are and together we determine what changes need to be made.
Modalities that I regularly incorporate into therapy include: cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing (MI), prolonged exposure (PE) for PTSD, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and sensorimotor psychotherapy (SP).
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
I have completed Level I and II training in EMDR, which is a structured and extensively researched therapeutic approach for treating disorders including anxiety, depression, trauma, and other distressing life experiences. EMDR therapy supports individuals in resolving unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. For more information, visit www.emdria.org/about-emdr-therapy.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP)
I have completed training in Level 1: Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for Trauma Themes, which welcomes aspects of the body as a resource and medium in which healing can occur. SP is a holistic therapeutic modality for trauma and attachment issues, anxiety, emotion dysregulation, and other somatic issues. About Me
Upon entering university, I found myself struggling to figure out what I wanted to do as a career for the rest of my life. In an attempt to avoid homework and responsibilities, I was drawn to volunteering around campus and in my community. It was there that I realized I had a passion for helping people, even if all I could give was my time. I decided to dedicate my studies to psychology and eventually pursued my masters because I knew that was what I needed to practice in Alberta. It is a long journey to become a registered psychologist but I am happy to be here.

In my spare time, I enjoy trying new things and going on adventures. I am always looking for the newest cafe, restaurant, or activity to do in Edmonton. I also enjoy spending time at home watching TV, playing video games, and reading. I often have a stack of books on my reading list because I tend to purchase books faster than I can read them. Lastly, I still find time to volunteer when I can. I am currently a wish granter for Make-A-Wish Canada, Northern Alberta, and support social media initiatives in mental health.

If you are curious, my Myers-Briggs Personality Type (MBTI) changes between and INFJ (The Advocate) and INFP (The Mediator) depending on when I take the test.
